How to shop for a Wireless Bra as a Fuller Bust Beauty

Wireless bras can be challenging to find for a fuller-busted beauty. The simple truth is that the more your bust weighs, the harder it is to find a wireless bra that lifts, supports, and shapes as well as a wired bra.
When I started at Lingerie DEBra, 8 years ago, there was nothing for me, a 38G (38I US), in wireless bras. Fortunately, the bra industry has made huge progress since my days as a bra-fitter-in-training. We now have a smorgasbord of brands offering good wireless bra options for a much wider size range than ever before.
That being said, a wireless bra’s ability to support your bodacious bust is a moving target. As you know, a good bra involves more than just the size on the tag. It’s about the material, the style, the construction, and how all those things work with your proportions. So what works for one person who wears a 38G, won’t necessarily work for another person, even though they also wear a 38G.
It’s also important to keep in mind that a wireless bra, no matter what size you wear, doesn’t offer the same shaping as a wired bra. Additionally, there is less separation without a wire and so your breasts might touch.
What all this boils down to is that you must be familiar with the particulars of your breast shape, their position relative to the rest of your upper physique, and your bust and band measurements.
How to Shop for a Wireless Bra:
Getting to Know Your Bust Particulars 101
1.) Bra Details that Will Help You Choose the Right Bra
Vertical Seams
A vertical seam helps to add lift for heavier busts.
Such as:
Pre-Formed Cups
The traditional t-shirt bra has pre-formed cups, meaning the bra makes the shape rather than your bust. A bra with this feature is great for evening out the look of your bust.
Such as:
Shallow cups
If you have more volume on the bottom of your breasts, you will want to choose a bra that has shallower cups so you don’t have space up top and/or fabric puckering.
Such as:
2.)Take Your Measurements
WHAT YOU’LL NEED:
A flexible tape measure.
Something to write with.
STEP ONE:
While wearing a bra, take a tape measure and place it under your breasts.
Loop the tape around your back until it comes back around and meets the start of the tape.
Pull snugly.
Make a note of the number where the start of the tape meets the end of the tape.
This is your band measurement.

STEP TWO:
Place the tape measure, so it lies across the widest part of your bust.
Loop it around your back until it meets the start of the tape.
DO NOT PULL TOO TIGHT.
Make a note of the number. This is your bust measurement.

STEP THREE: Enter your band and bust measurements into the appropriate boxes in the bra calculator.
3.) Are your breasts in the right place?
This last part is about setting realistic expectations about how a wireless bra will look on you.
In bra-fitting, a properly fitted bra should lift your breasts so they sit halfway between your elbow and your shoulder.
Your body’s unique physique may affect how high your breasts look but if you check using this guideline, you’ll know whether it’s a question of not having the right fit or if this is how your breasts naturally sit on your body.

Of course, wireless bras for fuller busts still have a ways to go, but there’s a good chance that if you book an appointment with us, we can help you find the bra of your dreams.
